Spring, a bonfire and a blog party

Today was a beautiful spring day and we had a bonfire in the garden for the first time this year. Sunnyboy helped build it and then had fun poking it with a stick.

As well as celebrating the beginning of spring and the start of the bonfire season, we're joining the Ultimate Blog Party 2009 hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom during the week of March 20-27th. Click the banner below to find out about the events taking place and to visit other bloggers taking part, and if this is your first visit to sunnydaytodaymama welcome to my blog about life with a sunny boy. I hope you'll have a look around and leave a comment (I love reading them) and a link to your blog, as I hope to visit lots of new blogs during the party. If you enjoy our blog do follow along and visit again soon.

  6. I love to watch little kids have 'fire fun'. So many parents won't let their children have experiences like this because they are soooo safety conscience.

My kids are still alive and kicking which is a miracle because they have tried everything! OK, that is not true, but I believe that as long as my husband and I think it can be safe, and we are watching them, they can be safe.

I love your raising style. Sunnyboy is a lucky child and you are a very wonderful mom.

Keep up the good work. AND Thanks for sharing!!!!

  9. Thank you all for stopping by and your comments!

Sharinskishe, yes 'fire fun' is so elemental to humans and a wonderful learning experience for young children (and older children and adults!). Sunnyboy has been going to bonfires since he was 11 days old and I'm very confident in his fire safety awareness now. I posted a video of a fantastic TEDTalk about dangerous things we should let our children do and, of course, playing with fire is included.

  23. Visiting from the UBP...I love your header and blog title. Too often blogging moms (myself included) focus on the negative about their kids, even if it's in a humorous, "wow my life is crazy" way. It's fun to see such a positive spin! :)
