Horton Hears A Who!

We already have several Dr. Seuss books, but one I particularly wanted to get for Sunnyboy was Horton Hears A Who! Last week at work I mentioned to G that I was looking for it and on Thursday when we arrived he handed this copy to me. It was 40p.
We work in a large charity shop that's full of unwanted treasures people have donated so on the occasions that we've asked our colleagues to look out for something it's very often turned up within a week (whether it's a Noddy video for Sunnyboy or a carpet sweeper for me). I'm grateful to our lovely colleagues who also put aside things for us that we haven't been looking for but turn out to be just right. Sunnyboy still loves wearing his Buzz Lightyear outfit.

Through the high jungle tree tops, the news quickly spread:
"He talks to a dust speck! He's out of his head!
Just look at him walk with that speck on that flower!"
And Horton walked, worrying, almost an hour.
"Should I put this speck down?..." Horton thought with alarm.
"If I do, these small persons may come to great harm.
I can't put it down. And I won't! After all
A person's a person. No matter how small."

  3. I have never read this book! I don't know how I missed borrowing it from the library. When my kids were little we would borrow a stack of books every week!

  8. My Favourite book is Horton hatches the Egg...my mum would have to read it over and over again to me and bc I memorised it, she couldn't skip one page. I hope sunny boy gets the same sense of loyalty and helping those less fortunate, as I did.
