  1. Great black and white photos! We don't really have car boot sales like that over here. Wish we did as they would be fun!

  3. Ah, the adventures of sunnyboy! I love it : )
I like the black and white photos, I just experimented with a few. It certainly gives a different feel more 'drama' to the photos.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  4. Harriet, yes they are fun and there's always bargains :)

Valerie, Sunnyboy looked round at everything but just wanted one little toy for five pence. We were actually there selling stuff and he decided to 'buy' some of his old toys too, so they came back home with us :)

Gardenmama, I agree about black and white adding drama. I thought these pictures were a bit dreary in colour and prefered them in monochrome :)

Hold on to his pocket money - who knows what he might buy... a stuffed gorilla perhaps.

  9. He seems to be off on his own there and I love that he 'bought' some of his own toys. New term for me, the 'car boot sale'. Nifty b&w's and the story that accompanied them.

  12. Oh what fun, a treasure hunt. I remember being in England and going to a couple of car boot sales. I had no idea what they were at first. Boot? We call them trunks. Ha.

  21. Looks like a lot of fun! Did you find any good deals? That is sort of like what we call a swap meet or flea market, right? Cute photos.

  22. Car boot sale? Never heard the term before...flea market, garage sale... Your sunny boy looks like he's on a mission to find the perfect toy!

  23. Well, what a treat to learn a fun little cultural difference--we don't have a car boot sale. Sometimes a store will have what they call a trunk sale, but I don't think they mean it like a car trunk (which is your "boot"). What a great way to bring people out and give them a chance to sell a few things at a time. For our garage sales here in the States, people save up stuff for months, because there has to be a LOT for someone to stop and look. A car boot sale would only need to have a few things per person.

You know we'll love seeing some of your secondhand stores, too, if you ever take your camera along while thrifting.

  25. We are so deprived! I've never been to a sale like that, but it looks like loads of fun! Wonder who I can get in touch with about organizing one of those in our are?

    Very Cool, Sunnymama!!
