Green

Inspire Me Thursday is a weekly invitation to amuse your inner muse. This week's topic is Green.

Green fingers

A neighbour explained to Sunnyboy and Little Friend about the root systems of some seedlings he's growing. They carefully carried the pots over to show Little Friend's mum and me the plants.

  6. for butterfly garden: you will need a host of plants for each stage of metamorphosis. Easiest are painted ladies...quick turnaround. For eggs/caterpillars, passion vine is best. Butterflies only lay on plants that can feed caterpillars. Also for butterflies, lantana is easy. Buddleia. Amazon.com sells kits (insect lore).

  8. Se'Lah,
That's really useful information. Thanks so much for taking the time to post it :) I'll get started on creating it and get back to you if I have more questions. I hope to be posting about our new butterfly garden soon!

  9. If you prefer monarchs, milkweed for eggs, dill and parsley for butterflies. Most butterflies use passion vine (which is prolific).

  10. What a lovely blog - there is so much to explore I could be here for hours :) Great to see the wee ones in the garden. Nettles are important food for butterflies too - they also like my cabbage plants far too much
