Freezing toys

The other day Sunnyboy asked me to put two of his toys in the freezer. I asked him why and he told me he wanted them to have ice on. As we have a frost-free freezer I suggested he put them in a jug of water first. He was very pleased with the results and then proceeded to knock the ice off with his wooden hammer. We've done this experiment again several times since then.

  1. James likes to put all sorts of things in the freezer - come to think of it, my elder son, now a chemistry undergrad, loved doing this too.
James was wondering if Sunnyboy likes the Octonauts?

  5. This is so much fun. I also like to give my son the frozen block of toys in the bath and he plays with it as the ice slowly melts away.

I had my toddler class take smaller ice blocks with one toy and throw them on the side walk outside. They love to see the ice shatter. I doo make sure to have them stand in the grass.
