Paper-mache dinosaur egg and Easter celebrations

A few weeks ago I was able to rescue sixty National Geographic magazines that a neighbour had put in a skip and among them we found this issue with a feature on Dinosaur Eggs.

Then last weekend Sunnyboy and Nozy finished making a paper-mache egg (using a balloon to make the shape) and they decided it should be a dinosaur egg. When the paper-mache was dry they cut a hole in the side of the egg and we all helped paint it brown.

We used the leftover paint from our Van Gogh painting.

When the paint was dry we filled the egg with shredded paper and put a baby dinosaur inside.

I haven't really celebrated Easter with Sunnyboy before, other than buying the reduced price chocolate eggs in the supermarkets after Easter, but this year we thought it would be nice to do some Easter activities. Yesterday we did an Easter puzzle book together and made our own Easter chocolates.

I'll be posting more pictures of our Easter celebrations in this week's Corner View post when the theme will be 'eggs'.

If you have a post about eggs, Easter or any post with a spring theme, we'd love you to link up at our All Year Round Blog Carnival: Spring, which is open for new links until May.
