Picnic Party: food (and summer recipe links)

Last weekend was Sunnyboy's birthday picnic party. We met up with our guests in the play area at the Country Park,

then we walked through the woods and set up the picnic in a more secluded spot.

The picnic food included french sticks, a selection of cheeses, humous, carrots, cucumber, celery, cherry tomatoes, grapes, bread sticks, twiglets, peanuts, savoury biscuits and crackers, crisps, malt loaf, iced buns, snowballs and iced gem biscuits. We also had a basket of apples from the tree in our garden.

For drinks we had lemonade, apple and blackcurrant squash, orange juice, apple juice and water. I used two tins to put drinking straws and cocktail umbrellas in, and covered the tins with pages from the same old atlas that I used to make the nature walk gift bags.

It was a very hot day and we chose a shady place to eat our picnic.

Sunnyboy's cake was decorated with toy bugs and six candles.

After the picnic Sunnyboy put on his bow tie and performed two magic tricks, then we handed out the nature walk gift bags and went for a nature walk.
