Rosewater

The theme for this week's Unplugged Project at Unplug Your Kids is Petal.

We made rosewater, inspired by Lisa at 5 Orange Potatoes. All the instructions can be found at her post on Making Rosewater Method #2. We picked the rose petals from the rosebush outside our house, and used witch hazel extract to make the alcohol/water solution. We'll add more rose petals in a few days and then will need to wait two to three weeks for the results.

If you're interested in nature crafts and activities for children then 5 Orange Potatoes is the most fantastic resource. Lisa is an incredibly creative and talented mama and reading her blog I'm always inspired by her love of nature and the magical environment she's created for her two daughters.

  10. Bummer! I wish you had done this two weeks ago!! I was matron of honor in a wedding, and we had the most beautiful rose bouquets. I could have made rosewater, and then given it to the bride as a keepsake. Oh well!
