Bear Snores On

One of Sunnyboy's favourite books is Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson (with illustrations by Jane Chapman). Sunnyboy loves bonfires so he especially likes this book because of the fire the animals make to keep warm and brew tea.

'Cuddled in a heap, with his eyes shut tight, he sleeps through the day, he sleeps through the night.
The cold winds howl and the night sounds growl. But the bear snores on.'

  4. This sounds wonderful...I bet you know it by heart. I have several books I know off by heart!

"Seventeen kings on forty two elephants, going on a journey through wild wet night. Baggy ears like big umbrellaphants, little eyes a gleaming in the jungle light."

    and

"One hippo all alone, calls two hippos on the phone. Three hippos at the door bring along another four, five hippos sneak in the back, six hippos arrive in a sack, seven hippos come to work...all the hippos go beserk!!!"

I could go on...but I won't! Thanks for bringing back some very happy memories!
