A sunny evening at the Botanic Garden (with jazz)

After spending a rainy day at the Botanic Garden last week, yesterday we spent a beautiful sunny evening there listening to jazz (as part of our city summer music festival).

If you have a post about a summer day out, or any post with a summer theme, we'd love you to link up at our All Year Round Blog Carnival: Summer, which is open for new links until 31st August.

More goodbyes and a happy-sad movie

Another IVF is over and we're saying goodbye to our embryos. The last two days have been so sad since I realised that they would be leaving us soon and today my heart is in pieces again as we say goodbye to another two lost babies who were very much wanted and loved by me and their big brother, and our family. I'm feeling so tired and defeated and my heart hurts so much. I'm forever grateful that I have Sunnyboy and we will always have each other.

Sunnyboy doesn't want us to be sad any more so he made an arrangement of his toys so we could be "happy-sad" and took a picture of them for me.

Then he made a "happy-sad" movie.

I am incredibly happy and lucky to have such an amazing sunny boy and grateful too that we got to bring these embryo babies home and have them here with us. I wish they'd stayed. I wish we had more than just memories.

Our winter decorations

Last week we finally took down the remains of last year's winter decorations and decorated our house for this winter.

Our charity shop decorations from last year were two angels and a snowman and we hung these up again this year.

Then we went charity shopping for new (secondhand) decorations and found a holly tree and two stars.

We painted gold and silver fir cones,

made bunting with fabric scraps,

made paper chains,

and some more paperchains.

Making paperchains makes Sunnyboy happy.

We made some stars too.

This year's winter decorations include Sunnyboy's glittery apples from the apple workshop and bookmark from the Winter Fair.

We also put up our tree. This was given to us at work the first Christmas we were there, because Sunnyboy liked it.

Chatting with Canana

Today I am inspired by modern technology. One of my reasons for starting a blog (one of several reasons) was to let family and friends know what we've been up to. So I'm delighted that Sunnyboy's grandma in Canada reads this blog. It's lovely to know that she's able to see Sunnyboy growing up even from so far away. (Sorry I haven't posted any Today's Flowers recently Canana. I know you also enjoy seeing the flowers here in the UK but there aren't many in our garden at this time of year!) Even more lovely was that yesterday evening Nozy set up his webcam so that Sunnyboy and Canana could see each other and talk for the first time. How amazing to be three thousand miles away and to be able to wave and chat to each other! I hope that Sunnyboy and Canana will be able to chat together again. For now here are some short videos of Sunnyboy that Nozy took recently.
