Vincent Van Gogh for children

We've been interested in Van Gogh since last year when we found this fabulous Vincent Van Gogh Action Figure in a charity shop.

The Vincent Van Gogh comes with two removable heads; one depicting him before he hacked off his ear, and one with a bandage, post-trauma. Also included is a paintbrush, pallet, easel, frame and four paintings! Action figure is 5-1/4" tall. Every budding or accomplished artist needs a Van Gogh action figure for inspiration.

This week we decided to continue our project on famous artists and find out more about Vincent Van Gogh.

We read Camille and the Sunflowers by Laurence Anholt and watched this video.

We had great fun making Van Gogh dioramas at the Van Gogh Museum website. Click on the link below to have a go.

We also like the Sesame Street version of Bedroom in Arles at the Van Gogh Museum.

We looked at the Van Gogh pictures from a famous artists card game we have,

and in this Van Gogh book.

We did a Van Gogh jigsaw.

Then Sunnyboy's "beautiful friend" came round to play and we painted our own sunflowers.
