Cocktail stick snacks

We made cocktail stick snacks. This was a simple activity to do but fun for Sunnyboy, and fun to eat too. We used banana, apple, grapes, pepper, tomato, cheese and dried apricots.

  1. Isn't it funny how something so simple encourages kids to eat healthy foods? If I add toothpicks to anything, Emily will gobble it right up! Great post!

  2. Meara really enjoys eating using toothpicks. Every sunday after church we go to the same place for lunch. She gets a child's hotdog and uses the toothpick from our burger to eat the cut up pieces. She thinks it's a treat! ;-)

  6. How fun, I am going to include this in our upcoming nutrition post on my other blog ABC & 123. It's scheduled for a week from tomorrow. We'll include a picture, brief description, credit you, and provide a direct link back. Please let me know by EMAIL if this is not okay. We have a post linked to the Friday Showcase and if you'd like we'd love for you to stop over and see how we feature activities. Thanks!

  9. Thank you for reminding me to try this again. I think I'll have the boys help me make some dips to go with the fruits and vegetables.

  11. When he gets a bit older, you can use bamboo skewers and have him make a pattern with the fruit. This activity was super cute and works on those fine motor skills.

  14. Oh yum! J and I do these kinds of things with our fruit and veggies... Isn't it fun? We recently cut and dehydrated apples. She dipped hers in raw honey...she couldn't get enough!
